Glynis Wright & Co were approached by the University of Leicester to put forward a Solicitor to become a mentor for a final year law student.
The company gladly agreed and proposed Stephanie Kyriacou who is a 3 year qualified lawyer with Glynis Wright & Co as a mentor. Having reviewed her background, the University of Leicester felt Stephanie’s experience would be perfect for final year law students, who could learn from her and may wish to follow in her footsteps by becoming a specialist family lawyer.
Stephanie is enjoying her role as Mentor for a final year student at the University of Leicester. As Stephanie is a local girl from Leicester who completed her law degree at the University of Leicester (in which she obtained a First Class Degree) and then went onto complete her LPC at De Montfort University (achieving 98% in her business exam), Glynis Wright & Co saw this as a perfect opportunity to give something back to the Leicester community by offering Stephanie’s services as a Mentor.
Stephanie is in regular contact with her mentee who has the following to say about her:
Stephanie Kyriacou has been my mentor since the end of October 2015. Since then Stephanie has provided support and advice which I, a final year law graduate, have found invaluable. I have been able to discuss my future career plans and seek her advice on how to tackle obstacles I may face when trying to secure a training contract.
Stephanie has constantly taken time out of her busy schedule to keep in touch via email and has always responded to my emails and queries promptly. Furthermore, Stephanie has agreed to allow me to work shadow her. I am very fortunate of this as again this is invaluable to an undergraduate like myself, allowing me to see first-hand life in a solicitors firm. Therefore my time being mentored by Stephanie has been advantageous and wonderful. I have been able to learn and will continue to learn about the practical side of being a solicitor, knowledge I previously lacked.
Most importantly through this mentoring I have gained confidence to pursue my goals and have a clearer vision on how to achieve them. For this I have Stephanie to thank.
